RMA's April Meeting / On-the-Water Fishing Seminar a Huge Success
RMAs and guests who took the time and trouble to drive to Jordanelle Reservoir for the club's April 11, 2006, meeting were treated to an excellent learning opportunity in a very unique environment. Brent McNee, an RMA and accomplished tournament angler, brought up his boat and schooled the group on topwater and buzz-bait techniques perfected during his years on the water.
The group was able to observe first hand things like lure action, retrieve speed and hook set as Brent demonstrated a variety of lures and techniques. Jim Morkin provided a nifty cordless microphone and boom box setup powered by a generator that made the instruction seem like it was all in a classroom. While Brent demonstrated on the water and answered questions, the group watched in comfort from the bank. Some sat at picnic tables.
After completing the on-the-water segment and loading his boat on the trailer, Brent continued the class at the Beach House pavillion. RMAs had an opportunity to look at his equipment up close and pick his brain about his tackle and how he fishes it.
Many thanks to Brent and the RMAs and guests who made the trip and put up with a little chill. You all made this evening a huge success. RMA President George Walker indicated there may be more of this type of activity in RMA's future.
More photos of the evening coming soon!
