A Message from RMA President George Walker
The members of Rocky Mountain Anglers express their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Doug Miller. His ability to entertain while sharing his knowledge will be missed by all of us who enjoy the great outdoors. His willingness to assist people and organizations in preserving and enhancing our lives as anglers, hunters, and others who want to experience the opportunities that this country has to offer cannot be replaced. Many turkeys, sheep, geese, pheasants, and more have seen this man up close and personal as he helped release them for our benefit.
If a person wanted to fish an Alaskan river, a local stream or lake, observe a Salmon spawn, or find out about harvesting cutthroat roe, Doug could help. If a person wanted hunt deer, elk or other big game, or to photograph big horn sheep along the Wasatch Front, Doug could help. If a person wanted to know about hunting or observing migratory fowl and upland game birds, or what it's like to see a bald eagle in the wild, Doug could help.
His friendship with youth and wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts will always be a part of Utah life, whether you hike, bike, ride, hunt or fish. We will miss learning about wild places and wild things.
Remembering Doug on the water . . .

Doug Miller taped a segment In November, 2003, about volunteers from RMA and B.A.S.S. who worked at Jordanelle Reservoir to help the DWR catch larger perch to transplant into Yuba. Doug interviews RMA Terry Opheikens as KUTV videographer Jason Sims records it. George Walker looks on and Brad Cutler steadies the boats.

In January, 2005, Jason shoots as Doug lands a fun Lake Powell striper for a show that featured winter fishing with a group of RMAs and Salt Lake City firefighters. |
